Pregame is made by Andreas Skyum. Questions about anything below: askyum@hotmail.com.
There is no account
Pregame never asks for an email address, a password, a phone number or a real name, and there is nothing to sign up for. The first time the app opens it creates an anonymous id — a random string — so a room can tell one phone from another. It is not connected to your Apple Account or to you.
What the app stores when you play
- The name you type on the lobby screen. It is shown to the people in your room and to nobody else. Type whatever you like; it does not have to be your real name.
- The room's four-letter code, and which phones are in it.
- Your answers and votes, which is how the room sees a result.
- Photos taken during a photo mission. These go straight to that room's private storage and are visible only to the people in that room, only after 11:00 the next morning. The lock is enforced on the server, not just in the app, so nobody can look early.
This is held on servers run by Supabase, our hosting provider, and is used for one thing: running the game you are playing.
What the app does not do
Pregame does not track you. There are no ads, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no third-party trackers, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone. Your photos are never used for anything except the room that took them.
Purchases
Unlocking decks is handled entirely by Apple. Apple tells the app whether the unlock is active — it never sees your card, your Apple Account, or anything else about the payment.
Camera
The camera is used only while a photo mission is running, and only after you allow it in the iOS prompt. The app has no access to your photo library, and nothing it takes is saved to your camera roll.
Deleting your data
Email askyum@hotmail.com and ask. Rooms and photos are deleted on request. Because accounts are anonymous, include your room code if you still have it — it is how we find the right night. Deleting the app from your phone removes the anonymous id with it.
Age
Pregame is rated 17+ and is not directed at children. It is played before a night out and its cards refer to that, though the app never tells anyone to drink.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
